The Pulse 2.0 Assessment tool is designed to measure language proficiency in Swedish, Italian and German as foreign languages in an occupational context, more specifically in the healthcare sector related to the professions of nursing assistant and caregiver. The tool is related to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). The level of proficiency corresponds to the level B1.
The content of the language- and country-specific tests are designed to assess the ability to communicate with target language-speaking patients in a linguistically and culturally sensitive manner. Thus, the tests contain and assess general medical care discourse, terminology, and concepts and are designed to elicit language samples that represent the range of healthcare worker/patient interaction in real-life situation.
